Striper and Eel regs...

As I understand it...

New Striper coastal regs for Delaware start April 1 not in May as previously reported. The new regs are; per person/day - 1 Striper between 24"/28" and 1 at 28" plus...

Also interesting is the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's regs for the American Eel... The regs are is supposed to be adopted by each state on the eastern seaboard... The regs are; a limit of 50 eels per actively fishing recreational fishermen at any given time.

I have done a lot of "eeling" in my time, especially from the shore... I would be hard pressed to have to worry about taking more than 50 eels with me to Striper fish from shore for any given night...

Thanks Jersey for this bit of "enlightened" management that your neighbor to the west has now adopted. frown.gif

Poppy, I believe the eel regs are primarily intended for those fishing for eels, not with them.
