Didn't know the man but I recognize the face from the dozen or so times I've stopped there in my life.  He was always kind as far as I remember. Sorry for your loss and sympathy to family and friends. RIP

One of the Fishermen Magazines most influential 100, invented the tuna spreader bar, and was a pioneer in modern tile fishing.

RIP. One time I was in there with my son. He was small and was playing with a soft plastic while I was talking to him. He told him since he likes it so much he can keep it.  Genuinely nice guy...never forgot that gesture and always stopped there whenever I was in the area after that. (Probably the most expensive soft plastic I ever got lol)

Oooph, that sucks, hadn't heard that

All that has been said is true.  And one of the best tackle shops.

Nice guy that will be missed.

Great guy, an innovator, generous, knowledgeable and ran a great shop.

very very  sad, great guy... I remember years back I was surf fishing with him the stripers were just over the bar and yes believe it or not i was catching fish on just about every cast, Dave couldn't cast over the bar so I would make a cast and him him my rod lol, like a father would do for his son. we were both laughing that day. He was a million times better fisherman then me,

a bottom fish master.  RIP Dave.
