Did the OP say he was using a slow 9 wt, or any specific 9 wt?  I must’ve missed that.  Most all 9 wts can handle 350 grains, but some can handle up to 400 gr easy

I'm not convinced that the the Airflo line above is the same as what is shown in the taper diagram.  On my that is the diagram for the Striper Ridge which comes in float/int/sink.  This is what I received when I ordered the sinking line.  It seems like a straight shot of sinking line with no taper.  I could be wrong but it doesn't seem anything like the taper diagram. 

When you compare it to the diameter of the running line, you'll notice the taper. It's not swelled up like a floating line for sure but it is a continuous uniform sink tip taper that is significantly thicker than the running line.
