Perhaps we’ll start giving up access on the island just like we did in the Cape. I had one checking me out one morning on Cutty. I was on a rock and he kept swimming around the rock and a couple times he bumped his belly on the back of the rock. He could have easily gotten on to the rock. Not sure if curious, playful, or trying to intimidate. If he was trying to intimidate me, it worked. He left after a minute or two and I booked it back to the beach. Luckily it was only a couple feet deep and I didn’t have to swim. They’re huge. And they don’t seem as friendly in person as they do on National Geographic.

Maybe the Betty Crocker Company can come out with a version of Gray Seal Helper.  Really would make them taste much better............

Throw them a ball, maybe they'll balance it on their nose? :naughty:

I barely went out in the kayak there last year. Every time I went those dog headed buggers would follow me. They must weigh 400 pounds. Wouldn’t want one rubbing my kayak in 30 feet of water.

I never knew that spot had grey seals. I heard a story from a local of a shark that beached itself on the rip.

Well, we're pretty hard core so we usually drink a couple pints of ox blood once we see land to fortify the spirit. Any excess is just dumped overboard to appease the fish gods. Will this be a problem?
