Assuming the line doesn't break, you're roped into the chair, you can hold on.. and your arms don't fall off ...

My money's on the rod going for a swim !!...........lol...
no I dont want to hear about safety lines.. they don't have thumbs

Id think the spool would slip and burn your thumb before you dropped the rod honestly

Surprisingly little. I tried it once and got a nasty blister on my thumb without breaking the 17# leader. I was using braid, though. I may have had better luck with mono.

I imagine I could stop to about a mid slot red. But when the big boys come I let the reel do the work. :)

100% till you skin starts burning off. Put 2 thumbs down and can probably break your rod. But in all seriousness not something I would wanna do on a big fish. Go max drag if needed, but unless you are in some serious structure it’s best to let the fish run and tire a bit.
