I have this tiller that a small briggs lawn mower engine was added to.

It runs and works great.

Problem is there is no engine shutoff. I pull the plug and it works but the plug cap is getting worn and vibrates loose.  Also hurts like hell.

How would I add a proper shutoff to this motor?

Run a ground off the plug wire through a toggle switch.  Just thinking what I'd do with what I have laying around.

I guess i was on the right track. I put a pushbutton on the case one side to ground other under plug cap . Motor wouldn't start so i need to test out the switch

Hold a screwdriver (with a leather glove) to the spark plug and touch the engine block.

One old motor has a piece of metal under the plug that you push onto the plug boot to shut the engine.  I wonder if this is available.

Or just tear the boot off the plug wire.  I like the switch idea better.  Just need to ground the magneto to the engine block to kill the spark production.

No fuel shut off? I always shut the fuel off and let my gas motors run the carb dry because of ethanol.

No simple 3.5hp pushmower engine

Just a prime bulb.

Starts on first pull every time

Been a long time since I had a machine with one of those to shut it off.
