WTS/WTT Fred Bear Recurve

26 posts in this topic

I figured I’d throw this up on here because I know there’s a few archery guys on here.  I’ve got a Fred Bear Kodiak Hunter recurve now which is probably from the early 60’s.  Draw weight is 45# Amo 60”.  I dusted it off last year and got a new string for it.  Looking to get $250 or possibly trade for surf gear.  Meetup only basically anywhere on Long Island.

If the medallion is flush in the wood it was made prior to 72'. If it's raised it's after 72'. That model bow was made 1967-1977.

Good luck with your sale/trade.

My favorite shooting recurve right there, I have two of them in left hand. One is bubinga / shedua, the other is a green futurewood like yours.thumbnail_IMG_2425.jpg.21831f707f2daf461c477da4488b05b4.jpg

The medallion is raised so it must be after 72.

rn3, Sweet looking set up!  One piece bows hold a special place in my heart; they just feel right.  :)

Damn.  I wish they were spinning, we would have had a deal.

thats unfortunate, so only interested in spinning? does 9-11ft meet your needs or strictly 10ft?

i have a 1201m OS spinning but its my 1st semi custom build and im fishing it

if i tried to sell some plugs and bought outright, would you be able to ship that bow or is it too risky if it were damaged?

I could throw a 10' 6", but i cant see ever having a need for an 11' for the fishing I do.  At this point id consider shipping in the North East.
