What’s your assessment of the cost to create vs purchasing?
ep brushes are roughly $ 1.25 each, light application, average 1 per medium sized fly.

h2o brushes are roughly $ 3 each. They go further as they are much thicker.

Any idea of a cost analysis yet, or is it a labor of love?

Cheap to make. Especially since you can customize what’s in and length.
I’ve just started making tapered brushes which make building big flys easy. Check out gunners fly tying videos on YouTube.

Gunnar is a true believer on a mission.

That guy is an obsessive, with the tailored brushes and blends and all. And the experimentation with everything else. Passion like that is something to see.

His wife must just shake her head. Bet he’s outside or in the shop a lot.

Ya totally agree the guy is a visionary in his designs and methods.
Next  up on my list of his fly styles to try will be, the build a beast. This fly looks like it’s going to be amazing
