So the main gear is a coated zinc? Or your not 100% sure yet

I'm pretty sure it's cast zinc.....

No idear what that grey coating is all about.......could be a corrosion thing...could be an etch type thing....could be a hard coat...friction mitigation....no idea

Interested to see the comparison to the Slammer 3. $99 for a reel with this level of sealing seems like a serious bargain. AND it comes with a 3 year warranty which seems crazy for a reel that is being marketed to take on salt water.

I'd be super interested if it's on the same level as a slammer 3

I have to ask...

Why would anyone think a 100$ MSRP reel would be anywhere on the level of a 200 to 300$ reel.  The lowest price I've seen is 143$ on one......which is still a significant price step in the world of retail.

It's already lacking the Forged alu machined gear and brass gear.....the drag is lightyears more powerful in the slammer.....and has a bb line roller......

Your original post compared it to the Slammer and Spinfisher and then you said that you would post a side by side video. Sooooo, I assumed they might be, well, comparable. I didn't get a chance to watch the video and didn't realize the internals weren't as good.

I gotcha...

A weee bit of a miscommunication..

Just in regards to the the rubber seals.... Nothing more...

I got the impression you were expecting it to compare entirely :)

I gotcha. Okay I misunderstood. Still though, might make a nice inshore reel for fluke.

I'm skeptical. There's been a preponderance of $100 "wonder reels" over the past few years that can't deliver on claims and promises. Long warrantees ensure one thing, if the reel fails you'll be without it while it's being repaired. That said, I'd be happy if this turns out to be a success.
