I got a bunch of these new things to try out.

Basically, it's a  tube on a stand that ya screw down to something. Then ya fill the tube with water. Then ya put yer open/used  caulk/silicone/glue tube into that and it will not harden as long as there's water in the tube.  I'm not gonna advertise them as yet.

My plan is to cut a whatever radius needed 3/4" plywood circle to fit into the bottom of a generic 5 gallon bucket, screw them down to that, and insert that into the bucket. This thing needs to be easily transportable because of winter . And also how the heck do ya keep a tube of caulk in this thing if it aint contained?

I'll keep ya updated...

Interesting. I use these vinyl caps from McMaster: #9753K18, like $5 for 100 of em. Will keep water based caulk a long time, RTV a decent time, but not long enough for the next job if it's not soon.

I'll often put a protologist's glove on the end of the tube & then screw the nozzle back on. I've kept 5200 for quite a while this way. Yea, I lose whatever's in the nozzle...

Yer kidding, i though everyone has done that (and had it fail)

Put a bit of Saran wrap over the tip, then screw the wire nut on, works better

Marette= wire nut.

5200 ( even refrigerated) does not last long once punctured. It funny how the more expensive a sealant/adhesive is, the faster it kicks off.
