At Home Tackle Storage and Organization

I am too embarrassed to post a picture of my current fishing stuff stash in the basement.  I have a ton of tackle boxes for plugs, boat lures, bottom rigs, freshwater stuff and fly fishing, but I also have tubs of just stuff.  How does everyone have their stuff organized?  I am thinking about buying an older desk and hutch that I can utilize.  I have seen some decent deals on Craigslist that I will probably pull the trigger on.  But, I know there are some very organized and OCD people here and pics of your setup would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for the input and tight lines.

I use the Plano style section box’s but sold by Kastking. You get more for less money. 3600/3700 series.

Label and stack on shelves. Very easy and simple, take a box as you need to.

Misc items are grouped together, plastic containers and labeled.

As for my rods, I keep most of my inshore and freshwater rods on a stand, likewise the heavy boat rods, fly rods and excess/old setups hang from beams in the basement. My surf rods, waders and wetsuits are stored in an upstairs room.

Plano boxes, each type of plug gets it's own box (bucktails, tins, minnows, darters, etc.). Boxes go on a shelf with label sticking out. Easy to load the plug bag. I also use a rolling husky tool box that fits in the back of my truck and holds the boxes perfectly. So I can load the plug bag and grab whatever backups I want to bring.

Muskie boxes for plugs, rods is obviously preference...still can’t figure out what to do with surf clothing though aka waders, tops, etc

Old dresser moved to the basement next to work bench for plugs not opened.

I have a plastic container for the back of my Jeep that holds my 2 plugs bags and wading belt, that goes on stackable rack along with that is my wader bag and Aqua Skinz storage bag.

Used plugs after cleaning are hung on wire strung from the basement ceiling waiting to have hooks changed.

I have a box built by my late Father-in-law that I use for the things I'm collecting and not fishing.

I dont have a big basement or garage at home for my tackles storage. But i ALWAYS bought something that I dont REALLY need whenever i visit a couple of tackle stores when I travel (at a discount price when the stores selling it just to clear some old inventories).

End up, my storage space seem to over pile with staffs that were never been use (mostly tackle/lure boxes). So, every once a year, i will take all the "unuse" items to a flea market n sell them. Eventhough i dont or make less money from it i am fine with that just to clear spaces. If kids come n buy from me, i throw in some FREE hooks, swivels or sinkers for them as well.

This way, i can have more space for my own tackles. Looking at some of the pictures above, may be u guys can do the same with those "unsure item" so that more space can be utilize. Cheers!

I’ve got an old dresser that I keep lead, hooks and plastics in.  Some peg boards for plugs, and rod racks in the garage.

Every year I start off organized but after a couple of weeks everything is a disaster.  Things end up in buckets, rods leaning against the wall, bags full of loose ends.  The vents in my truck end up with bucktails hanging off them, and storage container full of odds and ends.

I don’t get how people stay organized for more then a couple of days, hats off to you all who manage to do it.

Milk crates and old shelves. I've done the best with the space I have to store most of my tackle.
