Are they alluding that 20 Luvias is somewhat sealed? I love marketing, film video in back country somewhere, You can catch those fish with a snoopy pole and a chunk of hotdog. And i'm not knocking snoopy poles or hotdogs they can produce.

Drag is sealed like other daiwas.

I assume mag seal at the top of the antireverse clutch

If like the certate there is a cap over the ar clutch housing and a lipped seal around the top of the housings perimeter.

If like the certate...mag seal at the line roller

Rubber lipped seal at the main shaft

Rubber lipped seal at the handle entry point

Rubber gasket under the rear silver rash guard...

All seals on daiwa reels are fairly light and non restrictive.......

I wouldn't dunk the certate in the salt...

NO 6000 ....which means they have a bunch of largemouth bass reels :)

Nice looking reels. I had a look at them on the Daiwa Japan site. The models shown there have a long cast spool design which is pretty shallow - they don't hold a lot of line.

FYI

Not a long cast design....just a shallow spool....arbor diameter is the only change.

Very very common over there.....

Shimano USA and Daiwa USA thing we need 600 feet of 6lb test for stocked trout and 2lb bass.

(a long cast with a senko is 118 feet on a dialed in Antares)

Hi Scooby, Daiwa calls it a long cast design: "a new generation of ABS".

I guess it could be similar to the new Saltiga spool design, i.e., Daiwa shaping the spool more similar to how Shimano does it.

A 2500 or 3000 Shallow sounds perfect for large mouth and should work well for porgy.  I have no intention of dunking any of these reels I am surprised they would show it in a video.
