The finished rod is gone. My friend already picked it up. I have plenty of Suzuki blanks here if you need I can weigh the bare blank for you.

The action of the rod is moderate fast. Material price list you can get off mudhole. But off the top of my head for this build I believe materials was 70-80 dollars.

Hey, very nice rod. I am in the early stages of building a surf rod myself and I would like to know what kind of grips you have on and where you got them from.

The grips on there I made myself. It’s just cork tape and shrink tubing.

In regards to the grips, you say it is shrink tubing and I see it has the raised texture on it, where did you purchase that from? I can't find it.

The reason you won’t find it is because you have to build it out of cork tape. Then take the shrink tubing, slide it over on top and use a heat gun to shrink it to size.

what you see in the picture in the bottom portion of the rod is 1/2” cork spaced at 1/2”.

what is pictured on the foregrip is 1/4” cork spaced at 1/4”.

Nice rod, simple but clean! I Built a rod last year on that same blank.. went completely minimal to keep it as light as possible and threw on Torzite guides with carbon fiber grips... the epoxy i used sucked (possibly more my fault than the epoxy... noob) but otherwise it looked really sharp, and i couldn't believe the distance I got from the 9"-6' rod. Rod alone weighed 7.8 oz all said and done. highly recommend that blank to anyone building a light surf rod.
