This rod is designed for long cast for rooster, drum or striper.

I has an opportunity to test the rods for drum in Florida.

They are not biting all the time, but luckily they were in biting mood when I fished,

I think one of reasons of successful trip this time was I could cast farther with these 12' rods than I cast normally.

You got to cast far close to the Channel to get bites.

I am satisfied with the casting, action and strength of the rods.

I am going to give OK sign to go ahead to make the rods.

The 12' Black Hole Striped Bass Special rods will be tested for drum in OBX, NC in late April and rooster in Mexico in early June.  But the decision to make the rods/blanks are made already as I don't see any issue.

We tested 12' 3/4 oz - 4 oz, 1 oz - 6 oz and 2 oz - 8 oz.

What is the difference between stripe bass special and east coast special other than slight increase in price?

East Coast Special is  a kind of traditional surf rod with moderate/fast action.

The Striped Bass Special has very thin diameter with fast action.

Oh man Kil I’m very excited to see this version. Would be an incredible landbased sharking rod.

I never thought about shark fishing. :)

But these rods are good for striper, drum, rooster or tarpon when long cast is needed.
