If you will have a sample of the 9'5" rod at Ward Melville, I badly want to wiggle it.

Yes you will. But the rod is heavy duty rod. :)

???  Heavy is relative. The rod is rated 1/2 oz to 2 oz, which I translate as meaning that I can cause a 1/2 oz. jig to twitch in place, crawl on the bottom on a tight line, and still have the authority to make it jump hard if that's what the fish want. If little tunny come within reach and they want a 1 oz. Crippled Herring, why, this should be a good rod for throwing them too.

Or am I thinking of a different rod?

It is same light blank. But they used heavy reel seat and bigger guides. :)

I note a lot of fussing here about an ounce or two of rod or blank weight. My legs will give out long before my arms do, so I'm less concerned about it. As long as the action remains fast with 1/2 or 3/4 oz., I'll be happy with it.
