You had to be on the Mirimichi . I done my most damage there on a Black Bear Green butt . I did get some action on a Rusty Rat too but all grilse . Never did get a legit salmon at any time there though.

Loved the Mirimichi.   Largest hooked ( not landed ) was at the mouth of the Cains on a Brown Bomber. Took the fly and headed down past the Black Brook FF club and never stopped.   Never got to see him other than the initial swirl.   Finally had to break him off when I could see my spool core...love those adrenalin rushes.

Pretty great morning. Landed 6 browns over 18”. A few went over 20”. Got broken off by one that looked over 24”. Fought it for a few minutes. Several jumps and did my best to keep it from headed downstream, as I couldn’t follow it. Final jump the tippet broke. Definitely let out a loud GD when it happened. Smoke was as light as it’s been in the last several days.

Getting ready to build my second TH OH rod. Decided to add a little color to this one compared to the all-black stealthy first rod based on RedGreen's PacBay build. I have had the red-blue Nautilus Silver King for some time and decided this will be the reel for this build. The ALPS seats are the same model as the black one I used with satisfaction on the earlier rod. I bought both the red and blue seats because I actually have two builds on the to-do list. Colored rubberized cork rings will work into the motif, I am just trying to figure out where and in what combinations.

A couple of hours playing albie whack-a-mole today. Basically, they popped up everywhere that I wasn't (everyone else for the most part too). Too sporadic, too few fish. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Went digging through an old wader bag hoping to find a bottle of fly float . No luck I did find a couple of fly boxes I forgot about ( nice surprise ) and a once used pair of wading boots ( also had forgotten) , Wish I had more time to play with the waders ( kitty sitting ) . But I know the straps are shot , I will have to figure out a way to put new straps on they are not removable and the waders are latex . Anyway here's the box finds one full and one empty .

Love targeting these fish , they have created a fishery that wasn't present in my area before and I have no complaints .

9/19 got up 7am to 34 degrees with the dry front rolled in, it was great blue skies crisp air . I went local easy waters where I went last week . Same nymphs, same tactics . This time I did not lose any all hooked up Brown Trout ( 5 ) best 14” , have my grandson this weekend, going to fish with the spinn rod , make the farm  visit , start a fire and marshmallows .
