A big shot lady architect Erica Tisman 60 died tonight when a chunk of a building fell on her in New York City.

The building has many building violations against it.

Sucks.  There is a big push against some of the big developers, Tishman included, regarding renovations and scaffolding issues in the city.  Some scaffolding, which covers the sidewalk from falling debris, has been up for 14 or 15 years on some buildings, because they're constantly repairing them.  The bums and crackheads hang out under them permanently and they're rat havens and trash heaps.  City wants to tax the building owners and developers for having scaffolding up too long, owners want the city to approve permits faster so they can repair issues faster, take down scaffolding and charge more rent.
