I'm new to Walleye fishing.... this is my first early winter fishing.

But, so far the 2 weather events that brought high water have been great for both smallies and walleye.

Anyone fishing the winter bite?

No spot specifics, but techniques would be great.

I get them as bycatch when smallie fishing.  The few times i did target them weighted soft plastics and jerk baits worked well

I'm catching on 1/4 oz heads and twisters.

So far nothing on keitech or crankbaits and such.

The smallie bite is a surprise to me. Freaking cold water and also at night.

Drift the Delaware with lead head curly tails and Rapalas. I also fish the shoreline. I usually catch them when targeting smallies. If you fish bait, get leeches or live minnows.
