Doesn't work well in real life. Especially in windy condition. Try it. Justinj

You must be a heck of a caster. I would be luck if I can get 40ft with a 1oz bucktail with 40 mph wind. Let along a 5/8oz flying potato chip. Good. now try fish for a few nights, compare your results with plain old swivel or knot.

I use an fg for braid to flouro. Then the swivel goes on my lure itself.. infact most of my lures have the swivel on them already in my bag.. I have never experienced and issue from this rigging and I have zero twist issues. i do exactly this except only on spoons/diamond jigs only everything else direct tie or ta clip Beachglass Guru

Have you found a difference with ball bearing vs barrel swivels? I'm starting to throw some jigging spoons and the barrel swivels seem to help but don't eliminate twist completely. Looking for the smallest ball bearing swivels available...these are freshwater size metals.

They are a FW clip with really tiny ball bearing swivels built in.. I love them for FW buddha162
coastalfreak
In freshwater, I just use a small swivel snap to connect to spoons and such. I don't think a swivel does hardly anything to reduce twist. If you have twist, when you hang your lure from the rod tip, the line and leader untwist together,no? Not just from the swivel down. I use a barrel at the braid/leader connection almost exclusively as a point to grab to lift fish and for the convenience of tying on a fresh leader. Never got the bead thing. What is the difference between occasionally reeling your barrel to your tip or a bead.? To each his own. No wrong way. If you don't mind. What make is the plastic swimmer? Thx. mark d
when i first started tying leader direct to braid mainline i was concerned about line twist so i would occasionally make a high arching cast down the beach so that the line would be laying loosely on the sand. i would then walk the line and look for twist. never saw any "what good are tractors without violins" ? jose figueres
