I have to agree with you there. Spoons are my favorite lure. Caught my first ever Largemouth on a spoon so they have a special place in my heart.

It's possible that they've accounted for almost as many fish, especially Stripers, as bucktails. There was a time I thought there's no way such a simple piece of metal can catch fish, but I learned otherwise.

 

I still like tossing the Johnson's Silver Minnows for bass! :D

I’ve read that spoons were being made in Scandinavia as much as 1000 years back.
