What epoxy are you using?

I’ve used E Tex for a while but have yet to experiment any suggestions for other brands of epoxy or different ways to clear coat your lures?

- Thanks Tommy

System 3. Clear coat. Not for the faint of heart though. Can be aggravating till you figure out all the nuances. Another one I like is Entropy.

Whoops, I'm on limited sleep, up in the middle of the night to go fishing. Thought I was in the Fly Tying forum. Please disregard my Tom Foolery. :o

I tried Bob Smith 30 min epoxy.  Now im not a rookie but this epoxy is a b*itch to work with. Short pot life , brush drag and its a slow process per lure. Even with a heat gun to lay it down prior to putting on spinner ,  its finish not as smooth as other epoxies. I tried different thinning ratios with d alcohol . Not up to my standards. Prefer flex coat uv, e tex or sys. 3. I do like once it cures it has a harder surface than others.

Yeah... I'm kinda done with Etex. Never really liked the finish and seemed to have issues with 'spotting' (spotting?). Tried using rubber gloves, a coat of clear, even heat gun.

Will probably try Diamond or System three next.

I used to use Etex and now I use the stuff off the shelf at HD. Cheaper and I get the same result. Haven’t had an issue with it yet. I’m sure there are better options out there but I fish my stuff anyway and it doesn’t bother me...not that there are any issues with it

Called Clear coat. Also look into the Entropy  Super Sap. Good stuff too.
