Early Saltiga,  the silver & Blue ones.  Maybe the first in the series, idk.  Anyway I lost the "Handle Screw Cap" and i'm finding the z4500 part hard to find.  However a z5000 part of the same description is a possible find.  Anyone know if

this part can co-mingle with these reels?

Gen 1 about 2002, Gen 2 2010 then Gen 3 about 2015. Try Daves - Daiwa - Tarpon Springs - had good luck getting Daiwa parts from them. Mikes Reel Repair in Canada also. I have a link to the Saltiga history somewhere - will try to find it. Own a Gen 1 Z6000 - it is a tank.

I found schematics for both reels. Handel assemblies look the same.

However I see no part described as " handle screw cap ".

Describe the part . Where is it on the handle ?

fishcisco,

My Z5000 schematic has that part # G34-0002.  Your schematic has it at # G16-4501.

Not sure if there's a difference there but the part sure as hell looks exactly the same.

I would expect the fit to be the same. but...….differences in part # and design leaves me unsure.  If I knew they were swappable i'd get G34 from plat.jp for $20 something and be done with it.

The Catalina part is probably similar, too, and Plat may have it.

The Z 5000 reel is a fair bit bigger than the Z 4500 - has a bigger body as well as spool.
