Steve,

In the second pic, the middle row just below the cardboard boxes. Are they Peters Specials or special 3400 or 5500 with the metal tails?

Those are 3400 & 5500 special order snook pikies with the fluted tails. From what I have read, fisherman special ordered these to fish while trolling in NY.

Best

Steve

Probably correct about the NY trollers, since that is what the Peters Specials were mainly used for and the fishermen probably wanted something a little bigger and sturdier so the 3400 and 5500 would fit the bill.

Nice collection Steve.

Here are a few of mine. I've scaled back a bit because i focus on 19th century metal these days. I still have a few plugs. Here we have some Kendens, Russo's and Snook Bait Co big snooks & weasels. B

The century old question , it’s not easy lol

most of my collection are in cardboard display cases with glass tops.  They work well to transport.  I like to display my lures with old / odd Acrylic display units found at flea markets etc. they keep the dust out and light up .

Hey, vineyardblues - Where did you get the stands that each of the plugs are displayed on?
