After meeting with NS Black Hole, I went to south to fish yellowtail on a boat with Dong M Shin, TV fishing host in Korea.

Yellowtail were willing to bite. we fished three days on a boat and caught lots of yellowtail. Some were big and some were small.

I used 6'6" Black Hole Cape Cod Slow Pitch jigging rod/ Penn Spinfisher V 5500  and 9' Black Hole Striped Bass Special 1 oz - 6 oz / IRT 500 DD reel.

I lost two monster yellowtail on jigs as I couldn't stop them.

Food was excellent too as they provide daily catches.

There are some monster yellowtail.

When I go there next year, I will bring reels filled with 60 lb - 80 lb line and 130 llb leader line as bottom is very sticky.

There are two different yellowtail. Hamachi and Hiramasa.

All yellowtail caught in California and Mexico are hiramassa.

This fish is Hamachi. Big Hamachi like this is called Buri.

Buri caught in winter is famous for excellent taste.

Ksong, you do as much for Korean tourism as you do for Black Hole.  They ought to  have you on retainer.

Congratulations on a fine trip.

Good thing is I have good connection in Korea to know where to fish and when to fish. :)

I drive down to Virginia beach to catch big weakfish.  I used to catch weakfish in Raritan Bay, NJ or NY Harbor years ago before they disappeared.  I am excited to catch big weakfish again.

Those fish are perfect to test new 9'6', 9' and 8'6" Black Hole light rod rated 1/4 oz - 1  1/2 oz. But I can not post pictures as the spots are secretive. :)

Hiramasa

NZ kingfish would be considered hiramasa?

Was there any popper especially effective on the fish?

Thank you.
