Dave T.
Yes, just kept a 38” fish the other night (first one I’ve kept in about 20 yrs) because I promised s good friends father I would get him one. Have absolutely no desire to kill another one with the current state of the the striped bass population! Birdsnester
Something that has lived that long wow man I would just let it go. I keep one every few years anyway, been thinking of going all catch and release recently. pakalolo
I release most of my bass, 100+ so far this year, but a hog like that would be toast. giggyfish, flysully, SouthCoastSurfFishermen and 2 others 2 3 IN FAVOR OF COMMERCIAL FISHING AND SURFING THE NORTH SIDE MAY THE RICH GET RICHER!! 40shades-of-blue
Yes. I would know I caught it. That's all that matters. No need to kill it, weight it in, get my photo on the internet...ect. C.Robin
Wouldn't consider keeping it for a second. Think of how many eggs that girl could release, and big stripers taste like ****. flysully, slip n slide, LoneCaster and 7 others
Travel4Fish
Would like to think I would release it, but can't answer that until it happens. I think I would try to get a couple pics and quick measurements to have a mount recreated, hoping the fight didn't finish it off. Marty
phishallways
I caught one like that this morning. I released it twice, on two different shores... CPollnow
Photos and no doubt released. You don’t need to put the fish on a scale, it’s not a record. Marty
jk20a3
I’d get my pics, max out my hand scale and let her go....prob to just have some googan on a party boat jig her up the next day. But at least it’s not on me, can’t really make the argument for harvest either as the bigger anything gets from deer to fish the worse the meat tastes (maybe some exceptions like tuna).
