Shipping a 13'6" pole

Hello,

I have a 13'6" fishing rod that I am thinking of selling. It is a nice rod, but due to the local fisheries being terrible I would essentially have to give it away. It's too good to do that, but how in the hell do I ship it? Any idea of the cost? USPS and UPS shipping calculators are telling me it is too big. I'm waiting for them to open to give them a call, but am curious if anyone here has tried to ship somthing so long.

It is 1 piece. Wish I was out in the NE or SE. A good heaver for Drum and Bass.

Forget it. It's going to cost you $150, at least, to ship it.

Bring it to a tackle shop near where you live and/or fish, and beg them to sell it to you on consignment. That's really your only chance at getting rid of it without giving it away.

I transport a 2 piece 13 1/2' rod with no issues.

Buy the blank. Have them cut it in 3 equal pieces

and have them mail it to you.

I agree with Belmo.

For the fluke trip a year or two ago, I built a rod that was a prize for the pool winner.

Mitchell won, and used it as a tomato stake. :(
