As conditions today seemed to be identical to yesterday I had gambled on another snookfest.

My goal was to head to the inlet as I expected the most action and least beachgoers on this weekend day.

I did however enter the beach earlier to fish a particular drainage pipe / rock spot where I had seen redfish and snook earlier. With tourists to the left and right from me I choose the spot between the drainage pipe and the rocks, a narrow strip where you could stand. Had hits soon and caught a nice redfish and a Spanish mackerel amongst the crowd.

Spotted bait and a lot of snook untill I reached my destination.

Had a blast catching several snook that put up awesome fights with long runs and jumps.

When I went for my lunch break the snook counter was at six.

Returning from lunch the tide was at the end of the low and the sun low in the sky. Could not spot the snook anymore so I fished the rocks.

Had many ladyfish and a somewhat larger jack plus a bonus small grouper.

Snook number seven came from the rocks. At sunset I was for a change on the rocks instead of the water.

Caught all kinds of fish at the beginning of the incoming tide.

Spanish mackerel, blue runners and even a pb snapper.

The snook madness came well after sunset and I could add three more snook to the books.

Wanted to leave earlier but in the battle between sane marcel and mad marcel the latter won, epic day :-)

 Nice pics man!

I lived in a hotel in Naples for a month while working a construction job, I loved the place.

I didn't get the chance then but I'd like to kayak 10,000 Islands.

Marcel,

i enjoy reading your reports. You sometimes refer to red tide, what kind of a problem is this ? You do not seem to be to much annoyed about it ?

Could you explain ?
