Worth fixing?

I have an 8 year old samsung led tv that has horizontal lines across the top 2 inches of the tv.  I am not really an electronics guy and am limited with a voltmeter but I YouTubed a bit a took it apart and I dont see it being a tcon board issue but more of a panel issue. Maybe a bad ribbon cable bond but I have no clue how to fix that or get in the back of the panel  Short of taking all the screws out and ripping it to shreds is it worth the effort.  800 bucks 8 years ago.  Just replaced it and will give it to my daughter for her apartment if I can fix it otw its junk.

Anyone have any experience with these

Yep- crazy how cheap they have gotten over the last few years.  2 years ago on "black Friday" we got a 46" Samsung "smart" TV for less than $400.  Far more capable than the 42" Sony Bravia I spent well over $2K on not much more than a decade ago.....Crazy

find a repair guy who does it in the garage.  it's a 20 minute fix usually and a new strip off of amazon/ebay is $8.  I pay a guy $20 to fix the strip.

do NOT go to a repair shop.  they will kill you.
