Libs are now war hawks.

That's not what this is about, It's about what some people see as an impulsive decision without any apparent plan to maintain our legitimate  self-interest over there. Which is keeping a lid on ISIS without a large commitment of forces. That wouldn't have been possible without the Kurds. Yeah, I do think it's dishonorable to leave them suddenly vulnerable. But in the end I'm most concerned about a resurgence of ISIS...self-interest.

The American hand shake on support for people who help us in our stated interest is now meaningless.

When some ISIS escapee takes down a batch of people in a suicide bombing, it will be interesting to see the reaction of the swabs here in the PG.

Stacy Kenton is a brother in arms that I deployed with in 2009.

Scotty was a mentor and friend that I served with for over a decade.

"Kenton loved both the military community and his job as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) technician, so he chose to continue his life in the military. On November 19, 2017, while serving in Syria, Kenton was severely injured by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). As a result of the blast, Kenton became a quadriplegic and was blinded in his left eye."

"A Virginia Beach-based explosive ordnance disposal sailor was the first American service member killed in the ongoing conflict in Syria, the Navy announced late last week. Senior Chief Scott Dayton, 42, died on Thursday in Northern Syria from wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device (IED). Dayton was assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Two. According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, Dayton was operating about 35 miles north of the ISIS stronghold in Raqqa in the town of Ayn Issa when the IED exploded. Dayton was part of the about 300 U.S. special operations troops operating inside Syria supporting Kurdish and Arab fighters opposed to the regime of Syrian president Bashar al Assad."

For all the armchair quarterbacks here, I can only say....       nevermind.

Scotty and Stacy (and so many more unnamed) put forth their phenomenal  Honor, Courage and Commitment.   They worked shoulder to shoulder with their CTS, SDF, and Kurdish partners.   THEY helped to eliminate the scourge of ISIS and they did that with their Kurdish counterparts that the United States were fully supporting.

The Kurds suffered 5000 casualties when Saddam attacked Halabja in March of 88.   They have been subject to incessant attacks and what some may call "genocide" for decades.

When I served in Iraq, the Kurds were the MOST reliable allies, my best partners, and the fighters that I would follow, WITHOUT QUESTION into battle.

When it comes to "keeping a lid on ISIS without a large commitment of forces" (Patchyfog) , Stacy and Scotty DID that.

Trump abandoning our Kurdish Allies is beyond abysmal.  Trump has made a HUGE mistake here.  He most certainly should have used diplomatic influence to curb or alter the Turkish southern advance.    This will not be good.

Sorry,  this is very, very personal.

Pro tip:

If you don't let people from chithole countries into our own they won't try and kill us.

It's time for the rest of the world to put some skin and trillions of their own dollars into the game. How many trillions of dollars did Iraq cost us? And what did we get in return? What exactly should we do in Turkey....shoot their planes down, boots on the ground?
