So what to make of this? Trump hires a guy who has seen most of what there has been to see in certain House committees.

Axios reporting

Trey Gowdy agrees to serve as outside counsel for Trump

Alayna Treene, Margaret Talev, Orion Rummler

President Trump has asked former South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy to assist him with legal advice from outside the White House and Gowdy has agreed, though details are yet to be finalized, according to people familiar with the situation.

Not unexpected, thought he may get involved again, after his retirement.

He knows the ropes, and was frustrated by the House's lack of ability to prosecute.

Interesting from the standpoint that most anybody with a shred of common sense would consider Trump highly toxic to associate with at any level right now.

But he is a creature of the House and retired quite frustrated about the Dems' constant barrage of attacks on the Presidency. It is being reported that he did not volunteer, but was actually approached by WH and had to be talked into it.

I would also suggest that AG Gowdy could be a possibility come late 2021, when Barr's work is "done".

Perhaps..........

First let's see if

A : Trump gets to 2020.

B : Wins in 2020.

Gowdy is a pit bull. He is the right man for the job. He prolly doesn't even like Trump, but see's the need to represent. Gloves are off. No more strings attached in the House, he will be "leash free".

As long as Trey and Sekulow can work together, he is a very good addition.

We’ll see what he says about this  now

”Gowdy, according to a Voice of America article, responded that “the notion that you can withhold information and documents from Congress no matter whether you are the party in power or not in power is wrong. Respect for the rule of law must mean something, irrespective of the vicissitudes of political cycles.”

Trump must think he looks good on TV and will be sending him out to push the talking points,

maybe this means they finally accept the fact that Guiliani looks like a nut job......

plus he's eyeballs deep in the scandals which largely takes him off the circuit.
