Entered the beach at 6th. Ave. N. this morning and found clear water, a lot of tourists and no snook.

The snook appeared at the end of the beach where they hovered through the schools of small baitfish. Lots of snook but only a few that chased the fly without grabbing it. Clouds rolled in early so I fished the inlet and got into small jacks and blue runners. Also fished the beach side of the jetty and spotted tarpon again.

Only got hits from ladyfish and small jacks. When the rain started to pour I had luch at Lowdermilk park.

I went out on the crowded jetty as it was saturday and found a spot to cast.

It was at the end of high tide so the current was minimal.

I had subtle hits when suddenly I got a solid take, the fish was strong and fought deep. From the power I had guessed a jack crevalle but as I missed the circeling movements it had to be something else.

When the fish came to the surface it turned out to be a redfish.

A good end to the day.
