I hope they will be making a silver bailess kit. I'll tell you one thing that reel packs  a lot of power. Caught bass to the mid 30 pound class on that reel last spring.

Its crazy that they are not including it with the VR50 since its available now.  All other VR's already come with the bailless kit.  Doesnt seem right....

Yeah, they keep pushing the date back. I got the black only because of the longer stem than on my silver VR50, but was disappointed that the bailless kit

that Craig said would be included didn't come with it.

I'd guess those who posted above have seen it, but they have a sliver bailless kit available now.

Will they eventually have the extended stem on the silver also?

I really hope the bailess kit is included in this months batch for the VR50(black).  Seems unfair for it not to be included.

Mine is still on back order since the beginning of the month.

My understanding is that the video where Craig from Van Staal stated the kit would be included has been removed from their page, and from YouTube. So it seems doubtful. I hope it does though.

Be aware, the video says the stem length is increased.  If you have a rod built specifically for the older model, it might affect your casting distance due to placement of the stripping guides needing to be readjusted.  Not sure how much difference it will actually make.
