Abundance’s of fish all over from 120yds our to up in between our legs from hefty 22” fish to largest between three of us plus 5-6 guys off in the distance probably being around 35” or so. All on 1-1/2-2oz buck tails with 5” red split tailed teasers. Wind kicked up even more sustained around 30 with gusts over 40 so threw on a 2.5oz stubby SS needle (parrot color) slow retrieval and it was 28-33” fish almost every cast for a least an hour in a half. Love days and conditions like this that keep most indoors. Definitely have to be mindful of those rouge 5-6’ incoming breakers sweeping in broadside.. Got punched off my rock and went swimming at least a dozen times haha. But all in all great late afternoon into evening outing today.

Definitely. Except from today’s forecast:

Max wave heights 5 to 15 feet for the inner waters, bays and sounds, while 15 to 25 feet on the outer waters, not ruling out upwards of 30 feet. Dangerous boating conditions.

Friday night it was 3 hours of fish-a-cast action on big peanuts until the tide turned.  All 22-26 with a couple that might have been legal and 1 bruiser pushing 20 lbs.  Got checked by the epo which was a good sign.

Nice to see them out there making a presence.

And I went to work today. Big balls going out with that wave forecast.

South Coast Fisherman you are my idol. That's a great afternoon of fishing. So jealous.

These schoolies in South County have larger bass  with with them. I was on my deck catching 24-26" on Saturday and was seeing upper 30" and 40" class escorting. Of course the fellow I had on board turned his nose up at schoolies until I brought the larger in. 46" upper  30 lb class ...then he started casting!

Fun on the light able outfit and 12lb leader.

Hopefully we are all back in on the action this coming weekend.

Never know what the school holds til you catch them.

Tonight might be the most pleasant night out there. At least as far as water clarity and production. Tomorrow the storm peaks, and chocolate milk/weedsville might become the norm.

EPO checking licenses tonight and not letting anyone near tip. Surf was huge and wind was cranking, gonna be messy tomorrow.

I'd like to see him come into the wash and try and escort me out of there after I park 1/4 mile out of sight and walk down and out to the tip. To many good sized fish to be caught to be bothered by a single EPO that got the sh*t end of the detail stick to be placed on; most in which after a few minute conversation end up letting you pass knowing you aren't the average "shore fishermen". I've had days where accesses are shut down due to "high surf" and had an EPO light me up as I was nearing the trail head and after exchanging some friendly words he didn't have an issue with me being out in it.

Caught the incoming flood and boy did that increase in water volume just drive bigger fish in close to shore...A good friend of mine in which is one of about 3 people I choose to share a tide with in a serious manner both witnessed an easy 30-35# class fish go completely fully body out of the water just 100-120yds away from us through what had to have been a 8-10' incoming breaker. Conditions like these over the next 4-5 days are what the fall run is made of; highly recommend getting out there if you've got the proper gear, stamina, and time to just get out along any S/SE front along any stretch of shore-line with heavy white water and just get a 1-1/2-2oz bucktail in that mess and hold on....Just to much fun lol

I gave it a shot after work and end of incoming and it was a mess, wish I got out earlier in the tide. Fish were out far and couldn’t reach them, wind, waves, and sweep were tough. Bunch fishing and no one caught. Switched to a different spot a little more protected and found bass in close. All schoolies but sure beats a skunk.

First off it was really nice to see someone checking licenses, i havent had a license check in about 6/7 yrs.  Im generally with you in regards to "I can be responsible for my own safety" and frankly we need to thin out a few idiots from the gene pool..  But in the case the tip was completely unsafe, even half way down the jetty was getting dicey near dark.  It was a younger EPO, he actually went down the jetty to check licenses and ask people to stay back.  He got me in the lot as i was gearing up and explained that he did not want to have to go in after someone or put other rescuers life in danger.  And I completely understood where he was coming from.
