Sweetwater
Hey, Y'all. I got one of those pea soup/baby gack green Seeker blanks and was wondering what colors to use for my wraps. Is there a traditional color scheme, or do I just do the best I can? I have become too old to drink bourbon on the rocks. I will still drink it in the parking lot. Sweetwater
This is the color. Surfmaster described it as "baby poo green". I have become too old to drink bourbon on the rocks. I will still drink it in the parking lot.
ReelPeeler
You could always paint it I guess. I picked this rod up at bass pro a few yrs back. The blank looks black on mine, but anyways its called aqua dreams and this is how it was wrapped when I purchased it. Its 7'6 and has 9 guides plus the tip. Billy 40
Golden Olive and Super Orange NERBs Shade Packs are a HR on that color blank "the internet is the greatest platform for people who don't know anything, to tell people how much they don't know, to people who don't know anything and believe everything they read." -Billy 40:
Sweetwater
Thanks, Billy. That gives me a good set to work from. I will not be doing the custom stuff. Sweetwater
I ended up going with a camo look using woodland colored wraps and some tri-colored cord with black, olive and yellow for the butt. I will make it pop with some touches of blaze orange so it doesn't get shot at as I walk through the woods. So here is my next question: when working with nylon cord, do you seal it or leave it naked? The one nylon cord wrap I have seen did not use a sealer on the cord, but he used that tarred cord, which I assume is already water resistant. My concern is that as this rod is specifically built to fish in the rain, I could end up with a very heavy butt if the cord absorbs a lot of water. Edited January 2, 2020 by Sweetwater Clarity, like I am capable of it. I have become too old to drink bourbon on the rocks. I will still drink it in the parking lot.
