FS: Abel Big Game 0 Reel w SA WF4 line

8 posts in this topic

Extremely lightly used Abel Big Game 0 (zero) fly reel. The smallest of the classic solid frame Big Game reels, it is suited for fresh water applications up to 5wt.

I am the original owner and I bought this at Al Caucci's Fly Fishing School in May 1993. Serial number is 2972 and manufacture date is likely 1992 or early 1993.

Gloss black Abel finish with zebra wood handle. Reel is in very good condition, clean, shiny and nearly blemish-free. Full functional with buttery smooth cork drag, no start-up inertia at all. Set up for LH retrieve.

As shown in photos, reel comes with Abel factory pouch and spare spool-lock nut. Also includes a very clean and functional SA Ultra 3 WF4 floating line (not recent but not 1990s).

See photos for condition below. Most of the white spots seen are dust or reflections from too many light fixtures in kitchen. Single blemish is at bottom of frame and is shown in frightening detail in final photo below.

I will include a small small bottle of neatsfoot oil which should be enough for a decade or more.

Reel, line and oil are $250 shipped to lower 48. PayPal or USPS money order.
