Trump to Use Alinsky Rule #4 Against LA and SF Homeless and Drug Culture Laws

What better irony is there than Trump using Alinsky's rules against the west coast liberals? Specifically, Rule 4: "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules".

In this case, Trump is going to use the EPA to pressure LA and San Francisco to deal with their homeless and street drug taking problems.

SAUL ALINSKY SMILES: “The Trump administration plans to deliver a notice of environmental violation to San Francisco over its homelessness problem:”

President Trump said late Wednesday the notice would come from the Environmental Protection Agency. He said waste, specifically used needles, in storm sewers is contributing to ocean pollution.

“It’s a terrible situation that’s in Los Angeles and in San Francisco,” Mr. Trump told reporters on Air Force One on his flight from California to Washington. “And we’re going to be giving San Francisco, they’re in total violation, we’re going to be giving them a notice very soon.”

He added: “They have to clean it up. We can’t have our cities going to hell.”

L.A. and San Francisco are the perfect backdrops for Trump’s re-election campaign commercials, and this ad writes itself.

I wonder if anyone remembers Alinsky outside the crackpot right.

TomKaz, where did you go to find this particular talking point?

As if we weren't paying attention huh? Didn't your choice of POTUS in 2016 use Alinsky as her choice for a thesis?

It is so amusing seeing you and Sude toss around that first line. An honest assessment of tactics of the Democrats would see multiple uses of different rules on a daily basis.

For example, every post here where a conservative is called out for adultery, child porn or some other human weakness is application of Rules 4, 5 and 6:

4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules."

5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."

6. "A good tactic is one your people enjoy."

Rule 5 above, used by late night TV hosts, SNL and others to mock their enemies to belittle them, "other" them and shore up their own cadre by reinforcing the dogma through repetition and confirmation bias.

Another is the Left's use of AstroTurf and bussing in wood protestors to make crowds look bigger than they are, Rule 1:

1. "Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have."

Then there is this one, used by the Left and the Media every day to break individual people, isolate people from party or take people to court to use lawfare against them:

13. "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."

I could go on, but Rule 11 is the one used against Trump every single day:

11. "If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside."

Mully, to deny these examples is to show ideological blindness. They are used regularly and there are many more instance. Do I think some Progressive planner wakes up each morning, pulls out Alinsky's book and considers the Rule du Jours? Do I think there are emails sent out calling signals? Nope, but that does not mean the strategies and applications are not real.

Alisnky wrote the book for progressives to affect social change. Progressives, community organizers and others pushing for social change have used the tactics, consciously or subconsciously, for decades. Most often, in the gun control efforts and the objective to diminishing the Second Amendment.

What is so funny is that attempt to mock people for calling out Alinsky-sequel behavior is actually an application of Rules 5 and 6. You and Dude use mockery because you think it effective and because you enjoy it. However, the counter application is to keep pointing out such examples, keep invoking Alinsky and keep shoving back every time you use tired bromides like your comment above.

As for this being a talking point, it was on a public website that receives a million hits a day.

:howdy:

Oh, don’t go there, he likely has no clue Hillary's dissertation focused on Alinsky, that she knew him personally and revered him, even if her paper was critical of his efficacy. Mully is not all that educated in things he doesn’t feel he needs to know.

Cummings should not have demanded the reaction he got about the Baltimore comment, because that has encouraged Trump to pursue this line. Using the commies favorite approach of having the EPA go after something, to punish something, is good in two ways. One it embarrasses those people and two diminishes the value of the EPA in their eyes.

There should be a stiff fine imposed every day these cities refuse to clean up their act and actually house their homeless. Get them off the streets.

San Fran......home of the homeless.

I had professors in college in 80's telling us that Rules For Radicals is a life changing work.

I shot pool with Abbie Hoffman after he gave a speech at my school. He was promoting his book 'Steal this Urine Test".

Decent crowd. One of my pals who was an activist only as a means to game easy womyn, started asking him about his Howard Stern appearance and if it were true he let some dude plook him. Hoffman had to recant the story and demanded that he was the "top"! lol

Afterword, Hoffman sees my friend and says "hey you! what are you a Young Republican Plant!"

My friend was about 6'2" and looked like Bob Weir circa 1968, plain goofy.

We started talking telling Hofman we were on his side (yeah I was a liberal nutter in college) and he asks to hit the bar and meet women!

One of the more radical guys in our crowd kept trying to badger Hoffman for his opinions on Marx and Vietnam, George Bush etc... all the guy wanted to do was get some beers and hook up with some chick.

Finally, the kid says to him that he's been reading RUles for Radicals and wanted Hoffman's opinion and why Hoffman doesn't promote Rules.

"Eff off kid! Alinsky was a lazy turd who never got his hands dirty! We were the movement!" I'm paraphrasing because the SOL rules engine you would see nothing but a string of asterisks!

So there we were in some crappy west long branch bar with abbie hoffman, playing pool. Every chick in the place avoided us because -"who's the old guy? is that your grandfather?"  lol

So this was a fail and we decide to leave. each of us pony up for the bar tab and Hoffman says "hey man, this was your idea" and stiffs us on drinks!

Oh yeah, he also smelled like a goat when you got within handshake distance.
