Yes epoxy jigs will catch bass. My buddy gets them often using epoxy jigs. If you work it in slow with a few twitches I think you will pick some up. Wouldn't be the first thing I would throw. Rather try a 5-6" swimbait, popper, or minnow like plug.

The epoxy jig is basically a glorified spoon. If they'll hit a kastmaster, there is no reason they wouldn't hit the more realistic looking epoxy worked the same way,

I bought one since I posted the question and caught a few cocktail blues on it. No stripers nor Albies yet. However, I noticed that the paint came off. I have the shrimp (orange) version, but now it looks more like a piece of metal without any color. I’m somewhat surprised the color comes off easily. Am I the only expierienced this?

The Hogy brand do not have paint.  They are covered in clear epoxy.  Very durable in my opinion.

Durable until they touch a rock.

I have many and I find that the green-over-gold is a versitile pattern for un-funny fish.  Porgies like if, too.

Maybe you got what Hogy calls a "heavy minnow jig"? Paint comes off easy on them but they are nice for a really small profile.

I've landed every fish in the sound minus fluke and weakfish on epoxy jigs. They are very versatile and work well for bass.

Switch to an inline hook, throw a piece of gulp on there and they will catch fluke too.
