· #1 Posted September 13, 2019 Does anyone own/know about the Tica Striper Collector series rods? My local shop has a WIGA70MH2S (7ft MH, 2peice) on clearance for $40 and it seems like a cool little rod. Rated 3/4-3oz and has a nice longer butt section. I don't particularly need it but..... well I don't think I need to explain 0 Go to top

· #7 Posted July 19, 2020 I use this little, strong and supple rod. I think it's really responsive and great. I've broken my Tsunami 10' MH on fish this rod handles great in 8' size! 0 Go to top

The Berkley rod is Medium action and rated for I think something like 3/8 to 1.5 but not sure off the top of my head. It feels great though. I have used for Albies last fall and for fluking early this summer. For albies I was tossing generally a 7/8 epoxy as well as the 1oz heavier minnow. For fluking the 3/4 to 1oz range felt ideal. It's an awesome budget rod. It could be a little more sensitive for detecting bottom, but it handles fish well and has a nice palm swell for good grip. The TICA is also very nice, I'm glad I got it. I used for musky in late spring and the thing really handles bigger plugs and bucktails well. It's gonna be as good boat rod I think too, just have yet to get it out there to test out. 1 Go to top
