16H or 20H Stripper for 7 ft bass rod

This is for a 7 ft. M F finesse rod I'm planning to build.  It will be spooled with 10-20 lb braid on a 3000 Stradic.

20H, 10H, 5.5M

or

16H, 8H, 5.5M

What say you?  Thanks!

I'd use 20H as it will be more versatile with heavier line. If you were using strictly 10lb braid you could probably get away with a 16H and not notice a difference.

For size 2000 and under reels use 16H, 8H, 5.5L and for 2500 or 3000 reels use 20H, 10H, 5.5L.  These work with braided line or 8# or less monofilament.

Buy both set ups, put each on the rod and test cast it and figure it out yourself.

I was reaching out for advice in order to avoid having to do this.  Haha.

Good advice above. Below #15 braid or #12 mono/fluor a 16 stripper will work fine. Above those numbers default to the size 20 - it's way more forgiving. A 16 stripper will box you in but it will be a blast to fish.

Does this still hold true with a 3000 size reel?
