The fall run is simply listening to the guy next to you tell you how he "slayed 'em" the day before or the week before, and which lure is killin it ... yet neither he, nor you, nor anyone else around you has caught beanz in the last 5 hours you were fishing.

Fall run is the once a year season when you're wife gets coffee because PsL is BaCk in SeaSON

Not going to lie, I like them more than my wife does haha. But I usually drink my caw-fee black I swear!

Changes every year, but last few years I didn't notice typical "fall run" activity until first week of October. There have also been blitzes well into December last few years. Currently there is a **** ton of bait in the western south shore bays, but there is either nothing or small blues on them.

The run started in July...Boston got Busy, Cape Cod Canal Got Busy, Rhode Island Got Busy, looked like New York got busy....the rest will be dribs and drabs...we no longer have the long runs anymore because it appears the numbers are just not there like it was in the early to mid 2000's.

Thanks for the honest answers and the funny ones too! I wish I had more time to fish. I have fond memories of fishing the pocket at Watch Hill light in the mid '90's amongst other places. I didn't think it started un at least the end of September so I'm glad I asked.

Guys are fishing for different type of fish so it's all relative.  Also there a re different class of fish like striped bass.  Catching bass is one thing catching migrating bass in a big school is another.

It started about 3-4 weeks ago and many fish have already headed south.  Time on the water will tell you this.

I second this. Bait exploded in RI in August if you knew where to look and put in the time to hit as many spots as you can
