I was under the impression that if our don’t follow instructions to evacuate or if you enter an area that’s been evacuated and then  you need rescuing,  YOU get the bill.

To be fair, every hurricane is overblown beyond reality. Every resident has property to safeguard. Re-entry after even minor storms is long and protracted. I have had much better luck staying than evacuating.

People should be free to stay, even if there is an order to evacuate.

It should be clear that 911 will not send help during the storm if they stay.

Any who stay should get a reasonable bill that they should be forced to pay should they need rescue after the fact.

Well, that thread was about ****ing over people who choose to stay during a hurricane, on those very rare occasions.  The rest of the time, during normal life, hey, I wish them the best.
