It is time to fish yellowtail from the shore in Korea and I am leaving for Korea tomorrow.

Yellowtail like strong current and I plan to fish during new moon.

Fortunately there is no typhoon and they say yellowtail popping has been good.

I am looking forward to good fishing as weather is good and fishing has been good.

I hope I can land 30 plus lb yellowtail on this trip. :)

I will post pictures and report.

That's a very nice YT.  Very few fish pull harder.  They will definitely test your Black Hole rods, but I'm sure you'll prevail.  Good luck!

You must get a lot of nice stuff given to you. I wonder what you do with all your old stuff. You must have some collection sir.

Have a pleasant and save trip.

There are more than few of us waiting for reports and pictures.

Thanks.  I don't doubt I catch yellowtail there. But it is not easy to catch big yellowtail over 20 lb as we fish rocky areas.

I will use light 9'6" Black Hole Suzuki rod and prototype 9' Black Hole Striped Bass Special 3/4 oz - 4 oz and 2 oz - 8 oz with IRT 500 DD reels.

I am surprised.

LOL

I thought you may be using Century, OMD or Okuma Rockaway.

Can't wait to see picks from this trip.

Life is so hard.

Send us one of those cards

"Wish you were here, not"

Are you packing any Black Hole rods here or they will wait for you in Korea?

Hi Mr. Song, I am here on Jeju Island myself. Unfortunately, I injured my back a few weeks prior to the trip and it got waay worse right before my flight and is pretty bad now.

Thus, I left my fishing gear home and just as well- the 9 other family members in my party have other plans.

We head to Udo Island tomorrow, but one question I have is this:

At Jagalchi market, I saw about a dozen redfish (drum) about 24-28” in tanks for sale. Are redfish local to Korean waters?  I can’t imagine these street vendors importing them.  And these were not croakers nor spot. Definitely reds.

Thanks and good luck!
