Doesn’t look like any porgy that I’ve ever seen

I assume this bird is being taken care of by a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. If so, wouldn’t they have access to the proper food items?

There's a bird rehabilitation organization near me in CT that also asked for any fish donations. This was last summer. Even legit rehabilitation centers sometimes need some help.

Marty - any chance they meant ‘pogy’? As in bunker - osprey’s are very fond of bunker. They really don’t have the tools to harvest porgies...luckily pogies are regularly found on the surface and in the shallows where they can get at them :)
