On Sept 7 we will be holding a Century rod demo.  It will take place in Avalon, NJ from 1 to 4pm. Location is on the south side of Avalon Fishing Pier,  there is public parking at 30th st.

We'll have a sample of everything,  Graphene  Sling Shots,  the new versions of the Stealths,  Surf Machines,  NorEasters, the entire Weapon and Weapon Jr line, tuna popping and jigging rods and some boat rods from the Striper Series.

Bring your favorite reel and plugs and come test cast some amazing rods.

Frank Mihalic will be on hand for anyone to pick his brain. Hope to see you put there.

Also, Ryan White will hopefully be coming up from NC for anyone that needs a little help with their cast.

Who is Frank Mihalic?

Frank had been writing for the Fisherman Mag for a number of years.  He has become somewhat of an authority on Tog fishing and does many seminars on Togging as well as surf fishing. He has a lot to offer.

If you haven't checked out the Weapon Series you will be amazed.  From 6'6" to 10' these rods are truly next level.

What is so unique about them ?

They are made from very high end carbon fiber impregnated with graphene. They have the textreme finish on the blank which gives it an incredibly durable exterior. You can bang it around on the rocks and not have to work about nicking it. And lastly, the top 18" or so of the blank is fiberglass, but it's a redesigned fiberglass run with a structural resin basically giving you the lightness and performance of carbon fiber and the durability of glass. The 7' Weapon is fun on a schoolie bass but has the back end power to land a 50lb tuna. This has been done, that's how we know.

Nice rods. Big money

I guess it depends on your concept of big money. The Sling Shots and Stealths are pretty much in line with the Lami GSB, SuperSurfs and definitely less expensive than the Night Shift line. Actually the some of the Surf Machines are less expensive than the Night Shift line.

But...if your looking to spend $200 on a rod then yes, they ate expensive.  Keep in mind you get what you pay for.

Why bring $200 rods. What about Black Hole? Less than $400 for good quality rods.

If you want good quantity rods for less than $400, Black Hole is a good choice. But if you want a great stick, Century is definitely worth checking out.
