Williamson Gomame Jig?

Caught a whole bunch of mackerel and snapper blues working bait for almost an hour straight and I have to say I was impressed. I fished these same mackerel pods with epoxies prior and it seemed the fish were more aggressive to the gomoku.

It swims with a nice wobble but doesn't skip along as well as an epoxy jig would. However, swimming the lure quickly through pretty good chop in and out of waves was the best way I found to work it; the mackerel were willing to jump out the side of a wave to get the jig once they focused on it.

Easily 2:1 catching mackerel, about the same on snappers.

Track down the 20 gram Gomoku ... it’s worth the effort. The Olive and the Pink are the best colors ...

I hope so.....found em I just ordered olive and glow. 2 each.

Thanks for the tip! Can't wait!

Not too many people I know carry those bomber brand 'spoons'(?) in the middle but I love them as a search bait. It's hard to describe their action but the profile gets cut in half when it swims, so it looks more like a sand eel than a butterfish like you would expect, and you can really work it slow with a nice wobble.

That's a nice rack! Now I need to organize my metals...

Yes! I like the black/silver ones a lot.

That’s not what they are.... No idea what you’re talking about.... LOL!!!

Yes, Bomber Slab Spoons, good stuff for a small profile bait, I like the 7/8oz the best, they cast like a bullet and catch!!! Just remember,  change the hook and ring, things are only like $4....

I went with the gomoku variety, looking to compare it to some other similar jigs tomorrow. This has more of a diamond jig shape than an epoxy, similar to the sand eel jig that hogy makes (see picture)

Compared to the epoxy, I honestly don't think I will get the same effect across the surface with a slow retrieve, but it has to swim better than that hogy sand eel jig. Those things are no bueno.

The quality seems very good. Certainly has nice depth to the color and flash. I'll know for sure tomorrow if they are winners

Got mine too.

Agreed on the similarity to Diamond jig shape.

How are the hooks on these jigs?  Do they need to be changed out?

I caught four bonito on one jig and one of the trebles got bent a hair. These were only four or five pound fish so I imagine if I hooked an 8 lb bonito it may be an issue. I ordered some size 4 4x trebles to swap, but I am also toying with using a single.
