I'm interested to hear everyone's favorite Fluking Setup or Setups,So what's your favorite Rod/Reel and Bait/Lure (Inshore-Offshore).I dont do much fishing in the ocean so I like a 7-7"6 medium to medium-heavy that can handle casting 2oz and of course GULP!

This was Saturday's setup.

just finished a slow pitch rod for ocean, should be nice.with the tranx300

Are we talking from a boat or shore? I really like the 7' Jigging World Nexus paired with an Avet SXJ from the boat, I just bought two for this season.

Either or bolth,I know most fisherman have a setup for every type of situation.I have the Nexus 7'6 Spinning that I use inshore and I'm also a big fan.I just think theyre lure rated to high.Mabye it's there "Dragging" rating or something.

Blackhole charter special slow pitch

Daiwa Saltiga 10 JDM

15lb jbraid grand

Very light. Tons of fun with the bite on. Could stay down using 4-6oz most of the day.

Rodgeeks XC 734 wrapped by @Rodwinder

Trinidad 12a

30lb jbraid

For when the current gets heavy and I need 10-12oz

Penn 180 Baymaster or similar sized Penn convential reel with one of my older 8 foot down rigger Ulgly Sticks.  In spinning Penn 712 , 4300 SS, or similar sized Penn Spingfisher reel on light action rod.

Both using Door Gunner's float rigs.

Shimano Trevela in Medium & Medium heavy carrying a Tranx 301 or 401HG. I take my fluking seriously and have had a dozen people go with this setup after fishing with me.

Shimano FX sppining rod,  with Shimano IX 2000R reel.

Very light and expensive set up.

Less than $30 for both.

And it does catch a fish, too.

What lenght,I've check those out and if I did more fishing from the boat that's most likely the setup I'd have went with.

Conventional only for fluking for me. Light setup is a bh challenger bank L blank with a calcutta 400D loaded with 20lb braid. Heavier setup is a 15-25lb gloomis problue with a Trini 16NA w 50lb braid. No double digits for me yet this season. But my dad and good buddy had a few close.
