On the deck bone in Buzzards Bay.

Lots of blues mixed in.

Too many blues in buzzards bay. Found more bonito in the sound the last 2 days. Still some bonito in the usual haunts in buzzards bay just plagued with blues

I ran a 20# leader and lost no gear.

But probably lost ops for the bones by not going lighter flouro

Hogy was a perfect match.

Working all day on schoolies as well.

I was fishing a cape beach early Friday morning, after an overnight canal outing, to try to get a bluefish or two.

Not long after I started fishing, I saw some splashing off the beach that was about 30 yards out of my reach. Eventually the tide pushed the baitfish and the fish that were feeding on them within casting reach.

For the next two hours, the blitzing went back & forth, along the beach. There'd be a blitz for a few minutes, it would disappear, then reappear 50, 100 yards down the beach.

Whenever the action got close I cast a silver, then a pink Hogy epoxy into the action. However, I couldn't hook up. I was using my striper rod which has a 40lb flouro leader so I'm sure that didn't help my odds at all. At one point I did see small peanut bunker jumping out of the water. In retrospect I should have put on the one Acme Trophy Spoon that I have that is all silver with a black dot.

For the next couple of months I'll make sure to keep a reel with light line and a supply of 15lb flouro leaders in the car so I can ready for the next funny fish blitz I come across.

Yep. And they like to clamp them shut on my thumb when I go to remove the lure. Very sharp.

Forgot about that, and it reminded me yesterday morning. More bark than bite, a blue would scoff
