Pats vs Lions

Lions got booed at home.

Overall I liked what I saw in QB Jarrett Stidman...Hoyer could be worried.

It was the least sloppy preseason games I have ever watched

They should just do away with the preseason.........

Just an opportunity to get players hurt in meaningless games.

How would teams evaluate a player ( rookie, walk on, draft pick or free agent) on a practice field, without seeing them in a game with real opponents?....who are also trying to highlight their own skills.

It does fill a need and MLB baseball sucks.

Put them out against your own starting defense or offense.

I mean unless your the Jets it should be decent right?

Correct. Nice to see the rooks and new arrivals individually strut their stuff, but it's all pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

2 preseason games would be enough. It's criminal that the team's make season ticket holders pay full price for these "games".

Just put them on the field in a game that counts.

How many guys look good in pre season games

turn out to b no shows when it counts anyhow.

Eagles had the greatest tight end in football

for years, L J Smith, if the regular season was

played in August.

You can't put them in a real game, the roster becomes limited. Also once they play in a 1 real game there are all kinds on contractual ramifications locked in by the PA. Preseason game 1 & 2 give the coaching staff a look at what they have, who gets let go, who stays, who gets assigned to the practice squad etc. Then they whittle it down more in game 3 & 4.

Some of these guys you'll see later should injuries occur to starters in season.

No one is holding a gun to your head to watch.

Preseason blows. We all agree.

its necessary to evaluate talent on the fringe players. Your starters are exactly that, starters. Backups, Special teams players, and the odd project should have 2 games to show their worth. If not, see ya! Keep the 5 most intriguing and plop them on the practice squad.

Agree with everything you stated except if your a season ticket holder they might not be holding a gun to your head but they are robbing you for 2 scrimmage games.
