I found an old salt that is blowing out his collection of plugs.  I'm not much of a collector but this seems reasonable.  He wants $250 for 36 plugs.  Does anyone see anything particularly worthwhile here?

That's what I was thinking.  I asked if he had any by Gibbs, Musso, Beachmaster, or Pichney.  He has no idea, so I'm going to take the gamble.

Not really a gamble unless you are planning to resell them - for $7/plug the cool, old plug factor alone makes it worth it :)

There have to be a few goodies in there

The rest can be resealed, fresh hooks, and fished - you're good for plugs for years

what's the best way to reseal?  I usually fish bucktails, soft plastics, and sp minnows.

That's a good thread for the lure building forum

Go start one with a photo of the plugs - you'll get a lot of good info

Quite a variety and I can tell you for sure that there are 14 Creek Chubs in the lot.

Muskies were mentioned and although they could be used for muskies, in my opinion, buy the selection of other lures there, I would say that this fisherman was definitely targeting strippers.

There are even a few salmon plugs .

OK, so I ended up purchasing the lot.  On the other side of the room are a bunch of freshwater lures.  I may go back and buy those too.  We have quite a few classic Creek Chubs with glass eyes and they do look quite old.  I'm going to try and get rid of those as I'm not a collector and see if I can break even on the purchase.  Also found two Lucky Strike, a Heddon, and two masterluhrs.  Don't know much about those or their value.

Yes this

Was hard to figure out what exactly they are being so tiny in the photos

Break em into much much smaller lots and get pictures that really show the condition - worst side of the plug stuff
