fatbikerjoe
I found an old salt that is blowing out his collection of plugs. I'm not much of a collector but this seems reasonable. He wants $250 for 36 plugs. Does anyone see anything particularly worthwhile here?
TimS
That's $7/plug Can't hardly buy used modern day Gibbs lures for $7 each... TimS Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere. Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips. TimS That's what I was thinking. I asked if he had any by Gibbs, Musso, Beachmaster, or Pichney. He has no idea, so I'm going to take the gamble. Not really a gamble unless you are planning to resell them - for $7/plug the cool, old plug factor alone makes it worth it TimS Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere. Sudsy
There have to be a few goodies in there The rest can be resealed, fresh hooks, and fished - you're good for plugs for years I just wanta play everyday despite small nagging injuries -- and go home to a woman who appreciates how full of crap I truly am. ~ Crash Davis Social Distancing since 1962

I usually fish bucktails, soft plastics, and sp minnows.

Quite a variety and I can tell you for sure that there are 14 Creek Chubs in the lot. Muskies were mentioned and although they could be used for muskies, in my opinion, buy the selection of other lures there, I would say that this fisherman was definitely targeting strippers. There are even a few salmon plugs .
fatbikerjoe
OK, so I ended up purchasing the lot. On the other side of the room are a bunch of freshwater lures. I may go back and buy those too. We have quite a few classic Creek Chubs with glass eyes and they do look quite old. I'm going to try and get rid of those as I'm not a collector and see if I can break even on the purchase. Also found two Lucky Strike, a Heddon, and two masterluhrs. Don't know much about those or their value. Edited August 1, 2019 by fatbikerjoe

fatbikerjoe
Should I buy up the freshwater lot as well? Are those worth anything?
